PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Field Service Technician is responsible for conducting routine service and maintenance work, responding to breakdowns and urgent repairs, making retrofits, and providing installation and supervision support for various projects. This includes inspecting equipment, identifying and resolving problems, and performing preventive maintenance.

It is crucial for the Field Service Technician to adhere to company procedures and standards. This involves following safety protocols, using the appropriate tools and equipment, and documenting all work performed.

The Field Service Technician must provide excellent service and support to ensure customer satisfaction. This entails being prompt in addressing customer requests, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining clear and concise communication.

Additionally, the Field Service Technician will be required to support areas of the business beyond routine maintenance. This includes involvement in the assembly and manufacture of conveyors and materials handling equipment as well as commissioning activities and site supervision responsibilities. These tasks may involve overseeing the installation and start-up of equipment, coordinating site operations, and ensuring efficient project execution.

This is primarily an outward facing role:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Proactively ensure personal safety and the safety of others by complying with the Company's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Implement and improve all aspects of regular, planned, and routine maintenance at customer sites.
  • Undertake all aspects of breakdown and repair and standby maintenance support at customer sites.
  • Be part of the company's "technician on-call" rotation, providing support and assistance outside of regular working hours as required.
  • Develop training protocols and deliver training both internally and to external customers, for both operational and technical personnel.
  • Collaborate with all areas of the business to support activities such as Projects, Breakdowns, Change Requests, Technician on call, Testing, Commissioning, Hyper care, and Operations as required.
  • Ensure that all customers receive the agreed level of service and support.
  • Ensure that the work is carried out to the Company's technical standards while adhering to agreed Company health and safety standards.
  • Utilise AGITO's systems to ensure the timely completion of tasks and proper documentation according to Company standards.
  • Identify continuous improvements opportunities.
  • Provide support to other areas of the business on an ad hoc or temporary basis, as required.
  • Write and update knowledge base documents, H&S, spare parts etc.
